Synthesis Weapon

History
Synthesis Weapons, Also known as Materia Blades or Materia Weapons are, without a doubt, the most difficult and complex of all Synthesis combinations. It requires a material known only as Synth Jelly, which is sold only from one vendor in the entire Realm: Adriana.
Note: These weapons are not to be confused for weapons created with traditional, crude methods of synthesis, using electric synthesis crystals. Synthesis Weapons are far more refined and complex than their traditional counterparts.
Lukhan is said to be the discoverer of Synthesis Weapons - a topic he does not care to talk about often. Due to the great destructive power available with these weapons, he gave up the research, locking it in his laboratory. Perhaps bringing up the topic will give more clues.
Ingredient List
- 3 Forge Metals
- 3 Mined Gems
- 2 Synthesis Crystals
- 2 Dead Magicite
- 1 Dead Materia
- 1 Weapon Schematic
- 6 Synth Jellies
Process
Forge Item + Weapon Schematic => Weapon's Head
Forge Item + A Gem => Weapon's Body
Forge Item + A Synthesis Crystal => Weapon's Crux
Dead Magicite + A Gem => Magicite Core
Dead Magicite + A Synthesis Crystal => Spell Crystal
Dead Materia + A Gem => Focus Sphere
Unlike the previous process, the various steps in the creation of a synthesis weapon will not fashion items for each step. It will, instead, save the information in your pfile. This means thats you can only work on one weapon at a time. It also means, however, that you are not on a race against time to finish everything before the items decay, or get lost. You can also, if you choose, over-write any previous steps with new choices.
The command to see the status of your current Synthesis Weapon is Synth Status
Once you have completed all the required steps, and are happy with your choices, you must finalize the crafting by typing Synth Weapon. This is irreversible, and will use your current choices to create a randomized weapon, based on your selections.
Materials and their Properties
Unlike the previous process, using all of the same, highest materials will no longer produce the best weapon. Each material has a pro and a con to using it - For example, using Adamantite will generate a higher damaging weapon, but it will have few slots, and virtually no magical power, where as using Aluminum would produce a weapon that does not provide much in the way of damage, but will be superb in the magical fields.

Focus Spheres
Additional focus spheres can be synthed by combining a mining gem with a synthesis crystal. It can be attached to your materia weapon by combining the two with an additional synthesis - this step, however, does not require any catalyst. The replacing of a focus crystal removes and destroys the original crystal.
Contamination and Discharge
As materia weapons are used, they run the risk of discharging and contaminating their user. The dreadful drawback of exploiting the power of a synthesis weapon. Contamination renders individuals incapable of wielding a materia weapon for 60 minutes and generally degrades their health for the duration.
Discharging occours when a materia weapon is used too extensively without being recharged. In order to recharge a synthesis weapon, a synthetic magic core needs to be used on it using the recharge command. These items can be created by combining a shard of magicite with a forge metal using the power of an air synthesis crystal. The higher the quality of forge metal used, the longer the charge will last.
Discharging also causes damage to focus spheres, deactivating them on use. Unless the focus sphere is replaced with another, the elemental aspect of the materia weapon will not function.
