Most tales are filled with heroic battles, good triumphing over evil, and end with life returning to normal and everyone living happily ever after, however there are tales which focuses around those whose life ended so the heroes could continue on their quests. The Lament of Lost Souls is such a tale. Within its myriad of lyrics are mention of individuals who sacrificed their lives for the greater good, be they great wizards, mighty warriors, or even young prodigies. Within this tale their very souls exist and when sung aloud by one with the correct training their souls are brought back with one single purpose, to protect. As the Bard's virtuous lyrics fill the air the very spirits of the past are given form and grant the Bard and their allies with a more profound sense of life and shield them from even the mightiest of blows.
